We are seeking a dynamic individual with a desire to lead the Strings Department at Loreto Toorak. This a 3 year appointment with a substantive ongoing Teacher position, commencing Term 4 2024.

This is a high-profile position which values all aspects of excellence, engagement, opportunity, collaboration and leadership with the staff, students and families that form part of our Loreto community. </p><p>The Head of Strings is a 3 year appointment with a substantive ongoing Teacher position, commencing Term 4 (Monday 7th October) 2024. </p><p>Responsibilities of the role will include: </p><ul><li>Coordinating all instrumental and ensemble teaching for the Strings Department </li><li>Teaching an allocated list of private instrumental students </li><li>Overseeing the involvement of all string students in the music program </li><li>Preparing for and assisting in the delivery of the annual Music Camp </li><li>Organising and/or initiating workshops and performance opportunities, for soloists and String Ensembles including the Loreto Symphony Orchestra </li><li>Leading the teaching and learning in the Year 3 Strings Program </li><li>Attending school music performances and other school events, and assisting with the planning of key music events </li><li>Maintaining strong and open channels of communication with all music staff, school staff and all members of the Loreto Toorak community </li><li>Managing students and string staff in a professional, mature manner that role models exemplary behaviour and standards and is in line with Loreto Mandeville Hall’s reputation and ethos </li><li>Further responsibilities as outlined in the position description </li></ul><p><b>About You </b></p><p>You will be an outstanding role model as both a leading String pedagogue and a collaborator, expecting excellence whilst valuing the unique contexts of the learners in your care. Your understanding of instrumental programs in school settings is a crucial component of this role as is leading a team of expert String teachers.
