An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Officer (LSO) to join our wonderful team at St Peter’s School. LSOs work in partnership with teachers to provide assistance to students with diverse learning needs to optimise student learning outcomes. The role requires 20 hours per week across 4 days (negotiable)

<p><b>Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:</b></p><ul><li>Actively support and promote the values inherent in a Catholic School, by demonstrating an understanding of the ethos of a Catholic school and its mission;<br /></li><li>Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to legal and moral obligations relating to Child Safety Standards as set out in the Ministerial Order;</li><li>Be highly professional in all aspects of the role and display proficiency in areas of organisation, written and interpersonal communication skills, ICT skills and be able to use initiative;</li><li>Demonstrate a strong understanding of team work by proven expereince of working collaboratively with others;</li><li>Demonstrate an ability to work with a variety of learning needs (academic, physical, social and emotional issues);</li><li>Be able to build positive relationships with students;</li><li>Implement learning adjustments and programs for students under the direction and supervision of teaching staff;</li><li>Maintain anecdotal notes and records of student progress as instructed by the Learning Diversity Leader;</li><li>Be able to give, receive and act on feedback;</li><li>Demonstrate a preparedness to work flexibly and where required;</li><li>Be able to use discretion and maintain confidentiality;</li><li>Attend Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings when required.</li></ul><p><b>MUST Have:</b></p><ul><li>Current Working with Children Check<br /></li><li>Successful completion of National Criminal Police Record Check</li><li>Certificate 3 or higher in Education Support</li></ul>
