Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga are seeking a Permanent Payroll Officer to join their team.

<p><b>Payroll Officer</b></p><p>Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CEDWW) assists 29 Catholic Primary and Secondary schools located throughout Regional NSW, to maximise student learning, growth and development. </p><p>CEDWW staff are responsible for providing on-going operational guidance and administrative assistance across the areas of Learning and Teaching, Student Wellbeing and Diverse Learning, Evangelisation and Religious Education, School and System Improvement, Finance and Resources, Information and Communication Technologies and People and Culture services. </p><p>To find out more about the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga, click <a href="https://ww.catholic.edu.au/" rel="nofollow"><b>here.</b></a> </p><p><b>What we can offer: </b></p><ul><li>Permanent Full-Time</li><li>35-hour work week </li><li>10 days of additional discretionary leave on top of your annual leave </li><li>Discounted Bupa Health insurance </li><li>Annual Leave loading of 17.5% </li><li>Salary Packaging through Maxxia </li><li>Salary: Grade 4 $64,085.10 - $78,347.08 base excluding superannuation (dependent upon experience and qualifications) </li><li>Commencing as soon as possible or by mutual agreement</li></ul><p><b>Primary Purpose of the Position: </b></p><p>The Payroll Officer provides support to the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CEDWW) head office, Diocesan employees and the CEDWW system of schools across a range of payroll functions. The Payroll Officer works closely with the Senior Payroll Officers and the People and Culture team in assisting employees and key stakeholders by providing information, resolution and advice concerning payroll-related matters across the Diocese. </p><p>This role sits within People and Culture, where you will find us a caring, supportive team, who help each other in busy times but genuinely enjoy each other&#39;s company. </p><p><b>Catholic Identity and Mission </b></p><p>As an employee with CEDWW, it is expected that in this role you will demonstrate a commitment to the mission and vision of Catholic Education.</p><p><b>Work Health and Safety </b></p><p>The Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CEDWW) has a duty of care under Work Health and Safety Legislation to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers. The role of the worker is to ensure that while at work they take reasonable care of themselves and not do anything that would affect the health and safety of others at work. </p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><p><b>Payroll/HRIS</b></p><ul><li>Processing the end-to-end fortnightly payroll for a workforce of 1800 plus employees, meeting all payroll and reporting deadlines for the pay period (deductions, casual hours processing, certificates, leave etc) </li><li>Providing accurate, timely and efficient payroll services and advice </li><li>Analyse, interpret, apply and explain relevant payroll legislative obligations including awards, agreements, acts and contracts, CEDWW policies, procedures etc. </li><li>Complete onboarding processes in PHRIS for new employees </li><li>Ensure the efficient operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities including the processing of superannuation, workers&#39; compensation, payroll taxes and termination calculations. </li><li>Respond to all queries or questions from employees and undertake investigations into relevant payroll issues and discrepancies, including EA, Award and policy interpretation. </li><li>Support CEDWW as the Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service(MSS) expert for the organisation </li><li>Ensure the provision of accurate, highly efficient and confidential PHRIS services whilst ensuring data integrity </li><li>Implementing and maintaining advice and payroll-related information in the FreshService support portal </li><li>Liaise with intrastate and interstate Catholic Education employers regarding portability of leave entitlements for incoming and exiting employees </li><li>Support the Senior Payroll Officers to resolve difficult enquiries </li><li>Work collaboratively with members of the P&amp;C team to monitor compliance with relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements, approved policies, systems, and processes. </li><li>Support the Senior Payroll Officers and People and Culture Manager in the management of any overpayments and underpayments.</li></ul><p><b>Personal &amp; Employee Files</b></p><ul><li>Maintain personnel and employee files according to relevant legislation and public records systems guidelines.</li></ul><p><b>ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION </b></p><p><b>Qualifications Licences and Competencies </b></p><ul><li>Certificate IV in Business and or Financial Services and or a minimum of 3 years of work experience within similar fields. </li><li>Current Drivers Licence </li><li>Current Working With Children Check </li><li>Current National Criminal History Check</li></ul><p><b>Skills and Experience </b></p><ul><li>A proven capacity for payroll processing, data entry and analysis in a multi-level organisation. </li><li>Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills with a customer services approach to query resolution </li><li>High level of attention to detail, quality assurance and accuracy. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with conflict. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the current employment legislation, and the ability to interpret and represent relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements, and internal HR policies. </li><li>Advanced time management skills and ability to prioritise. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to build rapport, trust and confidence with employees at all levels within the organization </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively within and across Central office teams, agencies, school communities and parishes </li><li>Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity of payroll system and personal information. </li><li>High-level analytical and interpretation skills</li></ul><p><b>Disclaimer </b></p><p>This document reflects the major elements and responsibilities of this position and is not designed to be prescriptive in nature.
