The Assistant Business Manager provides financial and administrative leadership and support to the Principal, Business Manager and Senior Leadership. Ensuring effective financial decision making and leading a team to deliver day to day financial and administrative services and support.

<p>We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant Business Manager. This senior position within the College’s Finance and Administration structure plays a vital role in ensuring the financial viability of the College and the effective provision of resources to support our educational programs.</p><p><b>Position Objectives:</b></p><p>The Assistant Business Manager will collaborate closely with the Business Manager to oversee financial operations and management, with a focus on payroll and financial management responsibilities.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><p>Finance:</p><ul><li>Supervise day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable functions.</li><li>Manage payroll processes, including leave management and superannuation obligations.</li><li>Maintain aged debtors and lead debt collection processes.</li><li>Ensure compliance with finance systems, policies, and legislative requirements.</li><li>Prepare and submit statutory reports, financial statements, and budget analysis.</li><li>Support the Business Manager in financial reporting to senior leadership and governing bodies.</li></ul><p>Operations:</p><ul><li>Assist with HR management, office administration and first aid team coordination.</li><li>Oversee rostering and staffing to meet operational demands.</li><li>Manage risk, compliance, property maintenance, and infrastructure.</li><li>Support enrolment processes and provide administrative assistance to teaching staff.</li><li>Represent the school at events as needed.</li></ul><p><b>Key Relationships:</b></p><ul><li>Internal: Reports to the Business Manager; oversees accounts and administration staff.</li><li>External: Engages with MACS, auditors, suppliers, students, and families.</li></ul><p><b>Key Selection Criteria and Qualifications:</b></p><p>Essential:</p><ul><li>Qualifications and experience in accounting/business management.</li><li>CPA membership.</li><li>Proficiency in accounting standards, budgeting, and taxation issues.</li><li>Advanced skills in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and databases.</li><li>Strong initiative, problem-solving, and organisational skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Commitment to professional development and compliance checks.</li></ul><p>Desirable:</p><ul><li>Knowledge of education sector operations.</li><li>Knowledge of the CEMEA2022</li><li>Experience with ESIS and EFIN databases.</li></ul><p>If you are a proactive individual with a passion for financial management and team collaboration, we encourage you to apply.
