The role ensures that significant analysis underpins the establishment of annual budgets and that effective performance reporting and analysis against budget is undertaken, with remedial action identified and actioned when required. Developing solutions to issues, identifying areas to drive efficiencies and establishing a supportive, collaborative work environment will be critical to success. This role oversees the Facilities operations of NTCS.

<p><strong>Key Duties and Responsibilities</strong><br> <br> <br> <br> </p> <ul> <li>To effectively witness to the beliefs articulated in the Company's Policies of NT Christian Schools by modelling an authentic life of faith lived in accordance with those beliefs, and with general Christian principles.</li> <li>To model an appropriate Christian lifestyle in and out of school, acting at all times consistently with the beliefs articulated in the Policies and Procedures of NT Christian Schools.</li> <li>Build a shared sense of purpose by communicating the organisations business direction to staff and ensuring the work of business units aligns with and supports the NT Christian Schools objectives.</li> <li>Deliver a high standard of financial probity to the organisation.</li> <li>Negotiation of loans/finance with bankers and financial institutions.</li> <li>Ensure all legislative and external reporting requirements are met, including audits.</li> <li>Long term financial planning for NT Christian Schools including development of financial strategies and goals in conjunction with the CEO and the Board.</li> <li>Improve the financial performance of NT Christian Schools, recommending and implementing efficiencies.</li> <li>Provide capital grants submissions to the block grant authority, share key advice and liaise between NTCS and BGA.</li> <li>Ensure that our facilities and fleet management is contemporary, collaborative, in line with codes and regulations, on budget and supports the goals of the organisation.</li> <li>Oversee new facility development in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team, from conception to execution.</li> <li>Provide transparent and factual reporting and analysis to the Board, CEO and Senior Leadership team.</li> <li>Think critically and resolve problems with sound analysis and judgement, ensuring people are taken with you.</li> <li>Deliver new Finance and Facilities solutions to meet emergent needs.</li> <li>Establish excellent, supportive and transparent relationships with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and staff while modelling a high standard of executive behaviour.</li> <li>Demonstrate compassion, integrity and respect in all activities.</li> <li>Express open and honest views and persevere through challenges.</li> <li>Communicate clearly, actively listen and ensure effective communication to all levels of the organisation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Selection criteria</strong><br> <br> <strong><em>Essential:</em></strong><br> </p> <ul> <li>A committed Christian actively involved in your local church.</li> <li>Prove an ability to effectively model Christian values as expressed in the Policies and Procedures of NT Christian Schools and to give an authentic witness to those values.</li> <li>Demonstrate or be willing to develop, the ability to draw upon the beliefs articulated in the Policies and Procedures of NT Christian Schools to prepare an environment and culture of biblical perspective enhancing significant outcomes for students.</li> <li>Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or similar, with CA qualification being highly regarded.</li> <li>Relevant management/post graduate training/certification.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience managing a significant budget, including capital expenditure.</li> <li>Experience in facilities project management, team and department management and financial administration management including capital expense budgets.</li> <li>Experience in delivering successful projects with time and budgetary constraints.</li> <li>Proven success with financial and budget management systems, performance and reporting from high level data management and analysis skills. Ability to resolve issues through critical thinking, collaboration, research, analysis and judgement.</li> <li>Excellent professional level interpersonal and communications skills and experience in negotiating outcomes.</li> </ul> <p><strong><em>Desirable:</em></strong><br> <br> <br> </p> <ul> <li>Experience working in the not-for-profit sector or other complex environment</li> <li>Experience in the education sector</li> <li>Experience working with medium to large size business with multiple locations</li> <li>Hold CPA Membership of other professional associations recognised in Australia.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Further Requirements:</strong><br> </p> <ul> <li>Must hold a valid Working with Children (Ochre) Card.</li> <li>Must have a valid NT police check within the last 12 months, or invoice of order for one.</li> <li>Must hold a current NT Driver's License</li> </ul>
