We strive for excellence and enthusiastic participation in all activities and provide opportunities for growth across all areas of human endeavour, including the spiritual, the moral, the intellectual, the social, the emotional and the physical.</p> <p><strong>About the Role&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><u>Science Faculty Support </u></p> <ul> <li>Liaise with teaching staff on their needs for practical work and maintain an efficient system for use and allocation of materials and equipment, setting a priority system where necessary.</li> <li>Assist teaching staff with demonstrations, including acting as a demonstrator.</li> <li>Assist teaching staff in instructing students on use/care of equipment during science experiments.</li> <li>Advise and assist teaching staff in safety matters relating to the science laboratory.</li> <li>Prepare safety assessments for activities in the preparation area and, in conjunction with the teacher, in the teaching laboratory.</li> <li>Assist with the use of computers and learning technologies within the department.</li> <li>Assist with the development of operational and WHS within the Science Department.</li> <li>Prepare solutions, stains and media for use in the laboratory.</li> <li>Maintain a safe chemical storage/handling/disposal system in accordance with current regulations.</li> <li>Assist with security of science laboratory and equipment.</li> <li>Maintain an inventory of equipment.</li> <li>Acquire relevant catalogues and price lists.</li> <li>Carry out and/or coordinate labelling, storage, stocktaking and ordering of equipment and chemicals.</li> <li>Service and clean simple laboratory apparatus/equipment.</li> <li>Develop maintenance procedures for laboratory equipment.</li> </ul> <p><u>Industrial Technology Faculty Support</u></p> <ul> <li>Liaise with teaching staff on their needs for practical work and assist with maintaining an efficient workshop environment.</li> <li>Assist teaching staff with demonstrations, including acting as a demonstrator.</li> <li>Assist teaching staff in instructing students on use/care of equipment during practical classes.</li> <li>Advise and assist teaching staff in safety matters relating to the workshop.</li> <li>Prepare safety assessments for activities in conjunction with the teacher, in the workshop.</li> <li>Assist with the use of computers and learning technologies within the department.</li> <li>Assist with the development of operational and WHS within the Industrial Technology Department.</li> <li>Conduct a weekly deep clean of the workshop environment.</li> <li>Maintain an inventory of equipment.</li> <li>Acquire relevant catalogues and price lists and assist with ordering material.</li> <li>Carry out and/or coordinate labelling, storage, stocktaking and ordering of equipment and chemicals.</li> <li>Clean simple workshop equipment.</li> <li>Develop maintenance procedures for workshop equipment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Hold a relevant Working With Children's Check&nbsp;and be willing to receive training in chemical handling and white card.</li> <li>An understanding of and commitment to the vision and mission of St Anne’s Catholic College.</li> <li>Able to work unsupervised as well as being part of a team.</li> <li>Show initiative and be entrepreneurial and flexible.</li> <li>Is energetic, punctual, and organised.</li> <li>Demonstrated attention to detail especially in relation to managing quality control.</li> <li>Relevant experience working with chemicals and workshops or willingness to be trained.</li> <li>Ability to maintain accurate records.</li> </ul> <div> <p><strong><span>Application Process</span>&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> <div> <p><span>Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and current resume including a statement of suitability against the skills, attributes, and experience as outlined in the Position Description.</span>&nbsp;</p> </div> <div> <p><span>This position involves working with children.
