The school has a strong link with the Gungahlin Anglican Church which shares facilities and resources with the school.</p><p> </p><p><b>Commencement Date</b>: Term 2, 2024 </p><p><b>Position Location</b>: Burgmann Anglican School, 4 The Valley Avenue, Gungahlin </p><p><b>Line Management</b>: This position will be responsible to the Head of Senior School through the HPE and Science Faculty Leaders and ultimately to the Principal</p><p> </p><p><b>DUTIES </b></p><p>• Use a range of teaching strategies to deliver quality programs that are inclusive of all students and are responsive to their learning strengths and needs </p><p>• Ability to teach Religious Studies would be advantageous </p><p>• Establish a rapport with students to create inclusive, supportive learning environments </p><p>• Work collaboratively with colleagues </p><p>• Communicate with colleagues, students and parents in a respectful, effective and professional way </p><p>• Actively participate in the school’s co-curricular program, providing appropriate duty of care and supervision which may include a weekend commitment </p><p>• Participate in the pastoral care program and if required, lead a Pastoral Care class </p><p>• Actively participate in professional learning activities aligned with the school’s priorities </p><p>• Actively support the Christian ethos of an Anglican School </p><p>• Other duties as required </p><p><b>PASTORAL CARE </b></p><p>• Take responsibility for a Pastoral Care class, including: </p><p>- Developing positive relationships with students </p><p>- Monitoring uniform, appearance and student behaviour </p><p>- Teach the Pastoral Care program </p><p>- Liaise with parents regarding academic and pastoral progress of students </p><p>- Undertake administrative tasks required </p><p> </p><p><b>SELECTION CRITERIA</b><br /></p><p>• A relevant degree as well as a Diploma of Teaching or Education </p><p>• A passion for effective teaching and learning </p><p>• An understanding of positive education theory and practices </p><p>• An interest in working with adolescents </p><p>• The ability to differentiate the teaching program to address students’ learning styles and varied academic needs; </p><p>• A willingness to participate in curriculum development and professional development </p><p>• Expertise or interest in the emotional, social and physical development of adolescents </p><p>• Experience in the meaningful integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) into the curriculum </p><p>• Experience in teaching students with special learning needs </p><p>SALARY, TERMS AND CONDITIONS </p><p>The successful applicant will be employed under the Independent Schools ACT Standards Model (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021. </p><p>THE APPLICATION </p><p>Applicants should provide the following documents, via email to: employment&#64;burgmann.act.edu.au </p><p>• Covering letter, addressing the criteria listed above and outlining how you would approach the position (no more than 3 pages in length) </p><p>• Curriculum vitae (no more than 4 pages) </p><p>• A certified copy of your academic transcript </p><p>• Teacher Quality Institute registration.
