Teachers within the Diocese are responsible to the Principal and shares in the learning and teaching of subject matters to students of the school community. Teachers are responsible for delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.

Gilroy provides students with a high quality education that prepares them for their future.</p> <p>It is the quality of our teachers that makes all the difference.</p> <p><span style="text-decoration-line: underline">This is a permanent full time position to commence Term 2, 2024.</span></p> <p><strong>Key focus areas</strong></p> <p>The Secondary PDHPE Teacher will fit the following criteria:</p> <ul> <li>Contemporary and authoritative professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of English, and the factors that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, and their use in teaching and learning</li> <li>Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning</li> <li>Exemplary professional practice which includes building effective relationships and managing complex interactions, creating and maintaining engaging and intellectually challenging and safe learning environments, planning, implementing and evaluating rigorous and inclusive learning programs</li> <li>Use assessments and constructive feedback to inform teaching and learning and communicating effectively with different audiences using a range of strategies</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About you:</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">The ability or willingness to teach VET fitness</li> <li dir="ltr">Inspiring a love of learning in your students</li> <li dir="ltr">Being engaging and innovative</li> <li dir="ltr">Demonstrating a commitment to unleashing the potential of each student</li> <li dir="ltr">Active listening skills and the ability to engage with and builds strong positive relationships with members of the school community including employees, students and parents</li> <li dir="ltr">The ability to cater for students with diverse backgrounds, needs and abilities</li> <li dir="ltr">You maintain industry currency, share your passion for learning and are an expert in your field</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and accreditations:</strong></p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Statements of Service</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><br>We believe that our employee community is a key strength of our organisation and we aim to attract the best talent to achieve our strategic goal of being leaders in quality, faith-based education and an Employer of Choice in our sector.
