Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College is seeking an Early Years Educator to join our wonderful team in preschool. Starting in Term 2.

<p>Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College is looking for enthusiastic and engaging Early Years Educator to join our wonderful team in preschool, starting in term 2.<br /></p><p>Applications for this role are welcomed from both Primary classroom teachers or diploma qualified.  </p><p>An interest in working in remote Aboriginal education and a willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school are important. </p><p><b>Context statement </b></p><p>Wadeye is a large remote Aboriginal community situated approximately 400km south-west of Darwin with a population of around 3000 people on Kardu Diminin land. The vast majority of local Aboriginal people speak Murrinhptha as a first language. There are over 20 clans from the surrounding Thamarrurr region residing in Wadeye and attending the school. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College operates a Family as First Teachers (FaFT) program, preschool, primary and secondary school. </p><p><b>College requirements </b></p><ul><li> Support the Catholic Ethos of the College.</li><li>Support the Vision and Mission statement of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College.</li><li>Support the Northern Territory Catholic Education Vision and Mission Statement.</li></ul><p><b>Personal Accountabilities </b></p><ul><li>To respect and model Gospel values in all interactions with people in day-to-day life.</li><li>To genuinely support each student within our care wherever possible, celebrating their diversity and catering for individual differences as required.</li><li>To be active, collaborative, authentic, professional, and relational members of the College community.</li><li>To support culture that empowers students to think critically, discern wisely and value the search for truth.</li><li>To openly and honestly provide support to colleagues through collaboration, public support of other colleagues, and maintaining the dignity of all people within our school community.</li><li>To enter into dialogue openly and honestly with the principal and leadership team with relevant issues where necessary and appropriate.</li><li>To recognize and support parents as the first and foremost educators of their children.</li><li>To actively engage and encourage parents to be involved in their child’s education through a variety of opportunities.</li><li>To create an atmosphere in which parents feel comfortable to approach the teacher on matters relating to their child.</li><li>To display passion, commitment, professionalism, integrity, knowledge and expertise.</li><li>To demonstrate knowledge of best practice and innovative pedagogy.</li><li>To demonstrate forward thinking and openness to change.</li><li>To work in a professional manner assuming responsibility for timetabled and scheduled work, deadlines, and following College policies and procedures.</li></ul><p><b>Position Objective </b></p><p>As an Early Years Educator, you will be responsible for creating learning experiences and materials to deliver a set curriculum to support each student with their mental, physical, intellectual, and social development.</p><p><b>Duties and responsibilities </b></p><ul><li>Implementing both formative and summative assessments of students’ performance in the curriculum subjects.</li><li>Conducting oneself in alignment with college policies and procedures.</li><li>Conducting risk assessments for student participation in practical areas involving class-based activities to ensure the provision of safe environments.</li><li>Work collaboratively with all college staff including leadership to assist with the overall development of teaching and learning.</li><li>Using ICT effectively regarding student reporting processing and the design and delivery of modern and engaging teaching and learning experiences.</li><li>Maintaining and updating teaching qualification for the subject areas taught and Senior First Aid &amp; CPR.</li><li>Maintaining and continuing to perform in alignment with the AITSL professional standards for teaching.</li><li>Reflecting upon performance and continually engaging in the process of professional development.</li><li>Have the ability to work with all members of the College Community (Teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, students and visitors.</li><li>Work alongside colleagues to plan and prepare programmes in accordance with curriculum guidelines.</li><li>With other members of the leadership team, assist in the development and implementation of the schools’ policies and procedures.</li><li>Adhere with all WHS processes and procedures.</li><li>To be responsible for the pastoral care of students.</li><li>To create and maintain an attractive, safe and engaging environment to enable positive learning to take place.</li><li>To collaboratively develop curriculum and teaching and learning for primary school students in alignment with the ACARA and EAL/D requirements.</li><li>To deliver dynamic teaching and learning experiences that meet the needs of individual students.</li><li>To be flexible in planning and classroom management.</li><li>To adjust programs of work and assessment tasks as required to cater for students with Individual Learning Plans.</li><li>To maintain and upload evidence of adjustments for students as required.</li><li>To maintain accurate and up to date records to inform reporting and decision making around learning including attendance and pastoral care notes.</li><li>To be involved in ongoing personal and professional learning as a member or our Professional Learning Community.</li><li>To work collaboratively in a bilingual teaching team to combine both ways of education to best support children&#39;s everyday learning. </li><li>To communicate effectively to build relationships and help in everyday practice.</li><li>Any other duties as specified by the Principal.</li></ul><p><b>Scheduling Accountabilities</b></p><ul><li>To attend meetings and professional learning sessions and participate in making workplace decision making.</li><li>To meet with colleagues to plan, moderate, evaluate and discuss teaching and learning of students.</li><li>To encourage and participate in Parent/Student Learning conferences.</li><li>To deliver ongoing feedback and prepare written student reports at various intervals each year.</li><li>To meet with parents as requested.</li><li>To actively participate in a Professional Learning Community Team.</li><li>To participate in the professional practice of teacher observation.</li><li>To set goals, reflect on professional practice, engage in professional learning in a cyclic, structured manner.</li></ul><p><b>Requirements </b></p><ul><li>Candidates must legally be permitted to work in Australia and will be required to hold a current working with children Clearance notice (Ochre Card)</li><li>Hold relevant teaching qualifications.</li><li>Hold a NT Teacher Registration.</li></ul><p><b>Benefits</b></p><ul><li>Relocation coverage</li><li>Fully furnished housing</li><li>Generous travel allowance</li><li>Power and Water</li></ul><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
