Permanent Full-Time Director of Studies required from Term 1, 2024!

Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart, founded in 1882, is a leading Catholic Independent Day and Boarding School located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. The school is co-educational ELC-6, and girls only 7-12.

At present, we are inviting applications for a Permanent full-time Director of Studies, commencing Term 1 2024. As part of the School Leadership Team, the Director of Studies will work with other members of the School Executive to drive and promote whole school strategic initiatives and be responsible for curriculum compliance, student academic welfare, the school timetable, and other related operations. 

The role:

  • Commences mid-January 2024
  • Permanent Full-Time
  • Reports to the Principal
  • 0.8 Leadership / 0.2 Teaching split
  • Attracts a Level 4 Leadership Allowance

Key responsibilities will include:

  • In alignment with the School’s strategic goals, develop and implement highly effective short, medium, and long-term project plans
  • Lead and drive academic excellence through a strong focus on curriculum compliance, planning, and delivery
  • Manage all processes and associated obligations related to NESA and NAPLAN
  • Develop and implement strong systems for assessments, examinations, and reporting 
  • Oversee the timetable function including class allocations, teacher allocations (including relief teachers), events, rooming, and the allocation of staff duties 
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to monitor and progress academic assistance for students, where required. 

The ideal candidate:

  • Accredited with NESA to teach in NSW and previous teaching experience
  • Postgraduate qualifications in pedagogy, curriculum, educational leadership, or similar
  • Extensive experience and success in a similar leadership role 
  • Expert communicator across a variety of platforms
  • Demonstrated ability in applying intellect and knowledge to weigh up complex information; identifying critical factors, innovative solutions, and implementing best practice change 
  • Passion for and commitment to academic excellence
  • High-level administrative skills with proficiency in all standard IT platforms, and familiarity with education-based IT systems (working with Edval will be highly regarded)
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Ability to model the five goals of Sacred Heart Education in interactions with students, staff, and parents
