The College is seeking applications for the permanent full time role of Leader of Staff Professional Learning and Growth to commence in Term 1, 2024. 

The Leader of Professional Learning and Growth will provide creative and dynamic leadership in all areas related to the development and formation of all staff at the College. Leading improvement and innovation, the Leader of Professional Learning and Growth will motivate, engage, and influence all staff to improve performance and support the work of teachers. The Leader of Professional Learning and Growth will be committed to the implementation of best teaching practice and will collaborate with the Deputy Principal and all staff ensuring the provision of professional learning is aligned to the goals and outcomes of the College Strategic Plan.


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and (or be working towards) post graduate qualifications in education, leadership, religious education or theology Demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting Catholic Good Samaritan values
  • Demonstrated high level competency in the domains of leadership as outlined in the role description
  •  Exceptional staff management and interpersonal skills and a proven capacity to understand, engage and motivate staff, especially in consultation on growth and capacity planning
  •  Demonstrated ability to document, implement and monitor log and short-term strategic goals and plans in area of responsibility
  • A highly motivated attitude to work with the ability to seek out solutions and pro-actively problem solve
  • Knowledge of NESA and ISTAA Teacher Accreditation and AITSL Professional Standards for teachers or a willingness to gain required knowledge in this area
  • Ability to grow and initiate programs for staff wellbeing, learning and development

DESIRABLE

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the charism of Good Samaritan Education as articulated in the Good Samaritan Schools Teaching and Learning Framework and the Good Samaritan Schools Mission Framework
  • Have a proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent IT skills including use of the Microsoft suite and a School database system;
  • Current First Aid Certificate, including CPR.
