Governance Secretariat Officer
Permanent Full-time Position

Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 plus superannuation (based on experience)
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director of Schools, the Governance Secretariat Officer will assist Catholic Education, Diocese of Bathurst in the development of and transition to a more contemporary governance framework.
As the new Governance Secretariat Officer, you will:
Provide leadership and guidance for Catholic Education, Diocese of Bathurst’s transition to a new governance model by developing an end-to-end plan for successful migration to the new entity
Manage the transition by scoping, planning, resourcing, consulting with stakeholders and key milestone planning while ensuring all legal requirements are met
Identify and manage risk associated with the new governance framework (Model) and work with relevant departments to ensure efficient entity transformation
Coordinate the provision of (through a triage service) legal advice to the organisation to ensure optimum balance of investment in effort and protection of CEDB’s interests
About You
The new Governance Secretariat Officer will align with the following selection criteria:
Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or possess equivalent professional experience required of a company secretary
Good knowledge of corporate governance principles and experience managing governance frameworks
Project management experience
Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and policy
Experience working within or with an organisation that has transitioned to a new entity (desirable)
Experience working as a Company Secretary within a not-for-profit organisation (desirable)
Understanding of canon law and Church entity governance structures
